Dragon Shield #ECL
Live standings
A new league month opens on our TopDeck hub every month. Follow the standings live on the ECL page.
The Dragon Shield #ECL is a monthly league run by cEDH PT, Commander Arena and Dragon Shield, with a new event on TopDeck every month. Join the queue or invite other players for a league game, online or in person.
Play online on the Commander Arena Discord or in person. 10 online games is the minimum to be considered for the final Top 16 cut.
Proxy friendly. Proxies must be in colour with recognizable art (any printing listed on Scryfall).
No deck registration, so you can change decks between games. Top 4 players must keep their Top 16 list.
Japanese point wager: everyone starts at 1000 points and wagers 7% each game. The winner takes the pot, and draws split it evenly.

Our story
From a Discord group to Europe’s cEDH capital
cEDH PT was born in 2019, when Commander in Portugal was strictly casual. The goal: break the stigma that the format couldn’t be played at the highest competitive level.
Unlike organizers who appear and disappear, cEDH PT has kept a fixed calendar of qualifiers and events, year after year.Consistency and transparency, from day one
2019
The seed
Small groups of players in Lisbon and the surrounding area built a community on Discord and WhatsApp to share strategy and fight the stigma around competitive Commander.
2020 – 2022
Professionalization
Online events through the pandemic, then the leap back to paper. The Pirate Chest became a benchmark tournament, with Reserved List prizes and international regulars from its first edition. We also pioneered standardized playtest cards in Portugal, so decks worth over €5,000 were no longer a barrier.
2023 – 2025
European expansion
The European cEDH League with Dragon Shield and Commander Arena, the annual cEDH PT Nationals crowning the season’s best player, and in 2025 a massive fifth-anniversary event.
November 2024
cEDH European Championship, Lisbon
The first edition of a unified European circuit, with organizers from Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and more. 277 players made it one of the largest cEDH events ever held in Europe, and set the invitational model that now rotates between capitals (Munich 2025, United Kingdom 2026).
2026
The Power 9 Quest
Proof that cEDH has reached a level where Power Nine is the rightful trophy: a two-day cEDH festival with professional coverage, L2/L3 judges and guaranteed prizes.

How can I get a ticket?
Tickets were released in 3 phases: April 1st (50 tickets), May 1st (50 tickets) and June 1st (remaining tickets). The last tickets are available on our TopDeck event page.
Why do I need a TopDeck account?
The account is free to sign up at topdeck.gg. It is required to access your events, submit your decklist, and view match pairings on the day of the event.
How do I submit my decklist?
Log in to topdeck.gg after registering, go to “My Events” and find the event, then submit your decklist link in the form provided.
What is the refund policy?
If a player is unable to attend the tournament, a refund is possible within 30 days before the tournament date.
All accepted refunds will be processed 72h after the tournament.
Refunds are made directly to the account used to pay for your ticket (other options are available if needed).
You can also transfer your ticket. Transfers have a €5 fee.
Are proxies allowed?
You can playtest any card from the Reserved List and up to 25 others of your choosing.
Players need to produce their own playtest cards. Paper in front of a Magic card is not allowed.
All playtest cards must be in colour with official MTG art (paper or online) printed on any one version of that card. Deviating from this makes it an “Artistic Modification”, which the Judge team may disallow.
Championship gold-border cards are allowed (you must use opaque sleeves for the entire deck) and count as playtest cards.
All playtest cards must be approved. You can use our Discord for approval. The online approval can only take so much into account, and cards may still be disallowed on-site (for example, for thickness).
Are alters allowed?
Yes, but all alters must be approved by the Head Judge. You can use our Discord for approval. The online approval can only take so much into account, so bring a substitute just in case.
Can players from outside Portugal take part?
Yes. Every player can purchase a ticket, and everyone is welcome.
I have mobility issues. Can I participate?
Yes, we encourage everyone to come and play. The staff will be there to help, and if needed we can allocate a specific table that best suits your needs. Contact us to arrange the details. The closest step-free public transport is Benfica train station (Sintra line), about 790 m from the venue.
Can I go to the event if I’m not playing?
Yes, access to the venue is free, and there are side events you can join all weekend. If you don’t want to play competitively, you can also play casual games with friends and enjoy the event.
Are there any side events?
Yes, all weekend, including a Sunday redemption cEDH tournament. Structure and prize support will be announced at the venue.
What about vendors and artists?
There will be vendors (full list soon). If you’re an artist and would like a space at the event, please contact us.
